MediaTek Launches Dimensity 1050 SoC with 5G mmWave Support

KOMPAS.com – Mediatek officially introduce chipset newest name is Dimensity 1050. System-on-Chip (SoC) is the first SoC equipped with a modem 5G and supports the millimeter wave spectrum (mmWave),

MmWave itself is a high spectrum which is believed to be suitable for deploying 5G network. If held on the spectrum, 5G network speed will be more optimal.

Previously, chipset 5G made by MediaTek only supports sub-6 GHz frequency only. As for chipset The Dimensity 1050 also supports sub-6 GHz 5G technology.

With the support of these two spectrums, Mediatek’s Deputy General Manager of Wireless Communications Business Unit CH Chen claims that the Dimensity 1050 can provide an unprecedented 5G experience.

“With faster connectivity, as well as support for capable camera technology, chipset This latest version is able to provide the best performance in its class,” Chen claimed, quoted by KompasTekno from AndroidAuthority, Monday (23/5/2022).

On paper, the Dimensity 1050 SoC has an eight-core processor (CPU).octa core) consisting of four Arm Cortex-A78s each of which has a speed clock 2.5 GHz, and make Arm Cortex-A55 2.0 GHz speed.

The CPU is combined with an Arm Mali-G610 MC3 graphics processing unit (GPU) combined with LPDDR5/LPDDR4X RAM support, and both UFS 2.1/3.1 storage types.

For photographic performance, this SoC is equipped with chip image processor (ISP) Imagiq 760, which provides support for a main camera of up to 108 MP, as well as 4K video recording with frame rate 30 fps.

As for chipset it is made with 6nm fabrication.
