Medellín has 45,000 vaccines for this weekend

The city only had first doses until today, Saturday, but with the shipment about 25,000 were enabled.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the arrival of a shipment of vaccines against covid-19 during the day today. The agency, which yesterday reported on the shortage of first doses, specified that of the 45,000 biologicals, 25,000 will be to start schemes and 10,353 will be for second applications.

These doses will be available for all open stages in the vaccination plan, said Andree Uribe, Secretary of Health of Medellín. An approximate of 9,732 will be used for the application of first doses in people over 12 years of age.

The official invited the public to take advantage of this weekend and attend the active points, such as the Metro Salud units, the care centers in the townships and the massive point of the Stadium. “There we will complete diagrams of all biologicals (except Moderna) and we will apply first doses.”

In the city, according to the office led by Uribe, 2,411,477 vaccines have been applied. Among these, 1,055,712 people already have their complete scheme and 1,355,765 have received at least one dose.

Those who need to complete their scheme with doses from the Modern pharmaceutical company will still have to wait for the city to receive a shipment of these biologics, concluded the official Uribe, after specifying that the administration is waiting for the shipment of more vaccines by the national government.
