The court made an important decision for drivers regarding the TruCAM vehicle speed meter. According to the decision of the Second Administrative Court of Appeal, it is illegal to carry out such measurements by hand.

The case began some time ago when law enforcement officers stopped one of the drivers for speeding. During the conversation with the police, the man noted that they were forbidden to measure the speed of vehicles with the TruCAM device from their hands. He also stressed that the radar should be fixed on a stationary object.
The law enforcers did not take into account these comments and issued a fine to the driver. The man “followed the principle” and decided to appeal this in court.
As a result, the court took into account the fact that the policeman actually held the radar in his hands when he determined the speed of the car. At the same time, the court noted that this method of measuring the speed can give a large error, which means that the man’s claims are justified.
Thus, the citizen’s appeal was upheld, since the law does not provide for any other way to measure the speed, except for fixing the laser meter on a stationary object.
