McDonald’s and Burger King react to Corona: how customers have to change now

So McDonald’s started a first test branch in the Netherlands that meets the strict safety standards. In addition to yellow markings on the floor, which stipulate a minimum distance of 1.5 meters, a traffic light system regulates whether customers are allowed into the branch or have to wait outside. Around a third of the touchscreens were switched off in the restaurant, so that customers don’t get too close either.

The order counter has plexiglass walls that are only open in the lower area. This is how customers should take orders. You cannot pay cash here.

Plexiglass partitions are attached to the tables. Orders that are supposed to be consumed on site are brought in by serving staff. The car is driven to the table, the employee moves away and customers can take the tablet away without contact. Tables are cleaned and disinfected regularly.

The company has converted the kitchen so that employees can work at a sufficient distance. The company did not want to comment on the costs.
