Mayron’s mom, 21, shot to death by a buckshot while robbing a castle: “I miss you so much my son, I love you”

The victim’s family and relatives reacted quickly on social media.

As the drama took place overnight, Mayron Weibel’s family and relatives reacted quickly. Indeed, in the morning, a delegation went to the scene in My (Ferrières).

Workers were working near the castle. They explained that the people who showed up seemed particularly aggressive and upset. “The workers tried to explain to them and to parley but without success”, explains a witness. “They wanted to do it. The workers quickly realized that there was no point in trying to speak because the tension was too great. Fortunately, things ended there.”

It was in this tense atmosphere that the residents of the castle were.

A few hours after the tragedy, relatives of Mayron Weibel spoke on social networks.

It was first the young man’s mom to announce the news on her Facebook page. “I announce the death of my son, he will rest at my home”, wrote his mother. “I miss you so much, son, I love you.”

A few minutes later, loved ones also posted many messages filled with sadness. “Forever in my heart, rest in peace , wrote Andy. A little later, it was Jordan’s turn to speak: “Rest in peace, my dear. All my condolences.”

Many messages of support were also shared by relatives and friends of the deceased on the Facebook wall of Mayron Weibel.

Sometimes the tension was felt in the comments. Indeed, part of the speakers condemned what could appear to be an attempted theft by believing that the young man was somehow responsible for what happened to him, while others considered that he did not deserve death and that to raise such a thesis was to disrespect him and his family.

Mayron, 21, shot dead while robbing a castle

The local resident shot a buckshot at three men who were believed to have stolen statuettes.

On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, Mayron Weibel, a 21-year-old resident of Aywaille, lost his life while he was at the Ange Wibin Gillard castle on rue du Vieux Tilleul in My, in the town of Ferrières.

The young man had come with two members of his family including his father. It was around 12:30 am when local resident Yvan Dave, a retired computer scientist known in the area after running for the last municipal election, was awakened by noises in the courtyard. The man, who had already been robbed twice, was armed. He saw that people had placed a ladder on the facade.

According to elements of the investigation, the trio came to steal statuettes which are high on the facade.

Yvan Dave took his gun and repeatedly shot the fugitives. He hit Mayron Weibel with a buckshot in the back. The suspects fled to the nearby wood.

Mayron collapsed in the wood that borders the property, a few meters from the shooting site. A person accompanying him tried to resuscitate him, but without success,

Yvan Dave became unwell. He had chest pain. Help was called. Another ambulance was also called to assist Mayron Weibel. An ambulance from the Hemeco area but also an ambulance from Erezée went to the scene to help the two people. Rescue unfortunately could not do anything for Mayron Weibel. The latter died as a result of his injuries.

The prosecution has been notified. An autopsy of Mayron’s body is scheduled to determine the exact circumstances of the facts. Yvan Dave was deprived of his liberty, as were the two men who accompanied Mayron Weibel. During their hearing, the two suspects who accompanied the deceased denied having gone there to steal.

Contacted this Wednesday, Frédéric Léonard, the bourgmestre of Ferrières, said “Upset”. “This is an isolated fact”, would like to reassure the bourgmestre. This is not a wave of burglaries. There had been a few organized gangs rampant in the area, but that had calmed down recently. “

The bourgmestre wanted to tell us that the facts particularly shocked him. “It is a tragic situation. I was warned at 4 a.m. I am shaken, both for the victim’s family and for the perpetrator. It’s dramatic. I am upset.”
