The mayor of LoízaJulia Nazario Fuentes, called on the citizens to obey the call for social distancing made by the government to stop the spread of the COVID-19 after observing how the commercial and gastronomic area of ​​Piñones was crowded by hundreds of people during the afternoon of this Sunday.

The official, who shared photos on her social networks that showed long lines of cars as they passed through that area, said that the residents of Torrecilla Baja, which includes the Piñones and La Torre sectors, have fulfilled the call for social isolation and a curfew. However, he insisted that visitors do not do the same.

In some businesses people did not respect six feet apart.

“The problem we are seeing is that the visitors are not complying with the provisions of the Governor’s order and they are as if it were a summer Sunday”, assured the mayor in written statements.

Nazario Fuentes reported that in the face of this situation, he decided to reestablish -from next weekend- what he called the “Points of Safety, Health and Well-being of Loiceños” to guide visitors about the danger to which they are exposed if they do not follow the guidelines. of social distancing. For his part, the president of the Municipal Legislature, Joel Osorio Chiclana, asked people to look at the emergency “With the seriousness it deserves”. Likewise, he urged businesses in the area to take measures to avoid the gathering of people in the same place.

“A mechanism must be established through which they can provide the service allowed by the Executive Order, but without violating it. We understand that there is anxiety and a fiscal situation to attend to with our small and medium merchants, but it must be addressed in an orderly manner. What we saw today in the Torrecilla Baja area cannot continue to happen, ”said Osorio Chiclana.
