Two serious incidents happened near the beach in one day. A swimmer found a dead woman in the water near the beach this morning. With the help of bystanders, the body was removed from the water, after which the police were alerted. There is still no definitive answer about how the woman died.
Less than half a day later, a swimmer was reported missing. Divers from the fire brigade searched the water tonight together with a police boat. A human chain was also made to find the victim. The man was taken out of the water, resuscitated on the beach and taken to a hospital. Nothing has been announced about his condition to date.
The beach will remain closed until further notice. “In the coming days we will take the time to discuss safety there, because of these two serious incidents,” said a spokesman for the mayor.
