The reason Maxime takes the medicine is that on her mother’s side of the family, a substance is missing in their bodies. “As a result of which we quickly become overstimulated and everything can become too much,” she explains. Earlier, her mother Erica also told that she takes antidepressants.
Because Maxime felt that she was not doing well after Vivé was born, she decided to increase the dose. “I’m very strong of myself, but sometimes it’s just too much with all the work and two little kids.”
Maxime no longer feels “as extremely bad” as she did in her teens, when she struggled with the aftermath of a rape and a nude photo that was circulated. “And when Vivé is older, I want to reduce the medication again. But at the moment it helps me to get some more peace of mind.”
