Max Verstappen, First Dutchman F1 World Champion

racer Red Bull Racing Max Verstappen make history after becoming 2021 F1 world champion. Verstappen became the first Dutchman to do so.

Verstappen fights until the final round of F1 2021 in GP Abu Dhabi, Sunday (12/12/2021) night WIB, with defending champion Lewis Hamilton. Both have 367.5 points.

That means whoever wins this GP, it is entitled to the status of world champion. Therefore, the battle has been fierce since the first lap.

Hamilton managed to overtake Verstappen who grabbed pole at the first corner. The competition between the two was fierce right after the start.

Hamilton was able to overtake Verstappen. The two drivers then collided in the corner. After that, Verstappen continued to stick closely to Hamilton, who seemed to be difficult to overtake.

However, Verstappen’s momentum came when the safety car appeared with three laps remaining because Nicholas Latifi hit a wall. On the last lap, Verstappen then overtook Hamilton, whose tires were worn out.

Verstappen maintained pole position until the end of the race and was entitled to celebrate his first world title. Verstappen finished with 394.5 points on the F1 standings, six points ahead of Hamilton in second.

This was a big party for Verstappen and also the Dutch people who were finally able to see their rider become world champion. Because this is the first time the Windmill Country driver has won F1.

Not only that, Max Verstappen also successfully ended the fast of Red Bull Racing’s F1 world title which had been going on since 2013. At that time, Red Bull triumphed with Sebastian Vettel who won F1 from 2010 to 2013.
