After the victory of Palmeiras by 2-0 against Grêmio, in a duel valid for the 10th round of the Brasileirão, Felipe Melo was interviewed when leaving the field and demanded a stance from Maurício Galiotte in the contract renewal process.
– I see that my name is quite strong in the market, in the football scene. I see so many other athletes who will finish their contract in December, but Felipe Melo is mentioned. I don’t know what goes through the head of the president, the director. It’s true that the president called me to talk a while ago, he asked me for 15 days. It’s been two months and he hasn’t shown up yet. But the director speaks to me what you know – he detonated.

In an exclusive interview granted to the Danilo Lavieri, do UOL, the representative of Verdão answered the steering wheel and, as a bonus, announced that the tie for shirt 30 will not be renewed.
– We talked a few times with Felipe about the situation and he always said that we would pass an official position on to him. A few days ago, Anderson met with him and announced that, at the moment, our understanding was for the end of the cycle. Anderson (Barros, soccer director) warned him, in a meeting in his room at the Academy, that the cycle was ending right now. It was an unnecessary statement – he declared, adding that Melo was already aware of the board’s decision.
– Felipe wasn’t without knowing what his future was. It was a tough decision, Felipe won titles, he has the respect of the club and the fans, but some cycles need to be ended, and now we have a cycle of boys coming around. We talked to the entire board and committee and made that decision. The statement was made by Anderson, but in consensus with all: president, vice and commission. I stay until December 5th and I won’t renew my bond with him. Felipe has a contract until December 31st. If the next president makes another decision, it’s no longer up to me.
Also in an interview with UOL, Maurício Galiotte also confirmed that Jailson should not stay at Alviverde.
– Jailson also lived the same situation. Football is made of cycles. Both Jailson and Felipe were told, in Anderson’s office, that the decision at the time was not to renew – he concluded.
