Matteo N., nurse: “I fell at work, my company threatened to fire me if I requested the injury; I preferred to quit ”.
Dearest Director of AssoCareNews. It,
my name is Matteo and I am 29 years old. I have been a Nurse for 6 years and I am writing to tell you what happened to me during my first work experience in a private RSA. I quit because they made me sick and didn’t allow me to get injured.
Here’s how it happened to me in summary. I was at work and while giving therapy to a patient I slipped and fell to the ground. Shortly before, the guest had overturned a glass on the floor and no one had taken steps to dry the floor.
The blow was very strong. I immediately felt bad pain in my back and sacrum.
I wrote everything on the computerized medical record and went to the local emergency room, as required by the procedure.
As soon as I arrived at the hospital I received a call from my now left-manager of the facility. “If you get injured I’ll fire you in the trunk” – were his words.
I didn’t listen to him, I got injured and that same evening I sent a PEC in RSA with which I announced my essential resignation.
It is not possible to treat professionals like this, they just have to be ashamed.
I do not mention the structure because my wife works there and my dear friends also work there, but I assure you that they treated us nurses like simpletons.
What a disgusting Italy!
