(CNN Spanish) – The group stage of the 2023/2024 Champions League is slowly beginning to wind down. This week the penultimate round of this stage is played and several teams will seek to secure their qualification for the round of 16 of the most important tournament in the world at the club level.

The team that has made the most difference in its group so far is Bayern Munich, which is in first place in group A with 12 points. With two games left to play, the German club has already qualified for the round of 16 and none of its sector rivals can take away that first position.

Arsenal have the upper hand in Group B with the 9 points they have accumulated, although a remote catastrophe (losing their two remaining games and a combination of results) could still leave them out of the competition.

In group C, Real Madrid, like Munich, has also won all its games so far and is in first place in its sector. The merengue team has not yet mathematically secured first position, but it has already qualified for the round of 16.

Real Sociedad and Inter Milan have everything under control in group D. Both clubs have 10 points and are already classified for the round of 16. On the two remaining dates, they will play for first place in the sector.

Groups E and F are the most fought in the tournament, to the point that the eight clubs that make up them can still qualify for the round of 16 (Celtic, from group E, have practically zero hopes of achieving it, but mathematics keeps them alive) .

In group G, Manchester City, with 12 points, and Leipzig, with 9, are already qualified for the next round, so in their two remaining games they will decide whether they go in first or second place.

Finally, in group H, Barcelona and Porto, both with 9 points, are the favorites to qualify for the round of 16, but Shakhtar Donetsk can still sneak in thanks to the 6 points they have achieved.
