TORINO – Massimiliano Allegri was the protagonist of a long and interesting interview with Dazn’s microphones. After the anticipation of recent days, the coach of Juventus spoke and treated at 360° all the hot topics of the past season and the one that is about to arrive: last year, the future, the market, the singles (like the situation of Leonardo Bonucci) and the emotions of Udine.
Allegri, the return to Juventus and the criticisms
Allegri explained the reasons for his return to black and white, also recalling the welcome he received: “I came back because it was a challenge. After five years I left a team that had made history. I made a mistake of presumption thinking I’d go back to winning right away. It was my personal challenge. I was upset after Juve-Ajax but this is football, you can’t always win or lose. Yes, we work on growth objectives and for this reason I am satisfied with what has been achieved in the last two years – adds – Wonderful welcome, I arrived in Vinovo with Andrea Agnelli and I couldn’t figure out if the fans were happy or unhappy with my arrival (laughs, ed). Not an easy comeback for Allegri, who often ended up under the eye of criticism: “They are fine and are welcome. Last year we experienced a surreal situation and from the outside not knowing fully the situation inside it’s easier to criticize and judge. In Empoli, 10 minutes before the match, the news arrived that they would have taken 10 points away from us and it was final. At that moment I had two solutions: choose to say lighter things or go fast on a fact which was the standings. I put the standings ahead by writing it in the dressing room with +3 because we could have finished ahead of Milan despite the -10. After losing in Empoli we lost hope. At that moment there are emotions and moods. When they took 15 points away from us it was easier because you had to set mini goals, you could tell a few lies (laughs ed) and in the meantime we climbed up the standings”.
