Munich/London – Tue Squad planning for the coming season runs at FC Bayern Munich in full swing for a while. Sport director Hasan Salihamidzic is looking for players who will further strengthen their own team. Positions on which there is a need are those of right-back and des centre-forward. But are FCB also looking in attacking midfield? An old acquaintance of Thomas Tuchel could be on the list of the German record champions for this position.

FC Bayern Munich: Mount an option for the summer?
Mason Mount became a top performer under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and took the next step in his career. After the dismissal of Tuchel, the English international had a hard time. In recent months he has lost standing at the English top club and he has not shown the strong performances of the years before. Most recently, he was out due to a bruised pelvis and sat on the bench for 90 minutes in the two subsequent Premier League games.
The 24-year-old, who has a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2024, could be sold in the summer. According to information from the online portal Spox Liverpool FC is said to have already spoken to the player side about a possible transfer after the current season. But not only Jürgen Klopp shows interest in the national player, FC Bayern Munich could also throw his hat in the ring.
“I think he would work brilliantly at Bayern. You could understand that Tuchel wants him because he made Mount play his best football back then,” said former Chelsea professional Glen Johnson on the streaming service DAZN.
FC Bayern Munich: Mount would not be a bargain
Mount, who was born in Portsmouth and has worked throughout Chelsea’s youth academy, has exceptional skills that would suit Bayern Munich well. In the offensive midfield, the German record champions with Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané are actually well manned in terms of quantity and quality.
Mount, which has a market value of 65 million, would not be a bargain either. But is FC Bayern Munich really missing out on a player in his class if he really comes onto the market in the summer? (smr)
