Lübeck – A large police force was on duty around the Lohmühle on Sunday. The third division game between the VfB Lübeck and Arminia Bielefeld was the reason for this. Around 8,300 spectators attended the game, which ended in a 2-2 draw (HL-SPORTS reported).
2,000 Arminia fans in the city
In the evening, the operations management gave a summary report of what the situation was during the day. The arrival of around 2,000 guest fans went without any special incidents. At kick-off there were various pyrotechnics by East Westphalia, which were punished as administrative offenses. Firecrackers were ignited and rockets were fired onto the field.
Several investigations initiated
After the final whistle, there was an incident in the “Bei der Lohmühle” area, in which “normal” Lübeck fans were attacked by masked people. At least one person suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. When the police arrived, the attackers fled. The officers will initiate several investigations into suspected bodily harm.
