Mary J. Blige explores ‘My Life’ in trailer for new documentary – Marseille News

Today, Amazon Prime Video released the trailer for the upcoming documentary My Life by Mary J. Blige. In the movie, Mary J. Blige will revisit her most influential work, the deeply personal and critically acclaimed 1994 album from superstar, My Life.

The project, which will be released later this month in honor of African American Music Appreciation Month, offers an in-depth look at the album and its impact.

“My Life is the album that really bonded me with my fans who have since been on what turned out to be a wild ride,” Blige, 50, said in a statement to PEOPLE. “Go back and relive that time and that music felt like an out-of-body experience, but an experience that makes me so humble.”

In the documentary, which comes from Oscar-winning filmmaker Vannessa Roth, Blige “reveals the demons and blessings that inspired the record and propelled her from the crushing world of New York housing projects to international stardom,” according to her line. official login.
