“Marvel Superfan Sets Guinness Record with Massive Deadpool Collection”

For his collector’s collection, Pahliney converted a storage space in his home and started calling the place dedicated to Deadpool the “man cave.” In February of this year, thanks to his collection, Pahliney became one of the holders Guinness record.

The popular cut-mouthed anti-hero Deadpool first appeared as a comic in 1991. He joined Marvel’s film heroes in 2009 as one of the characters in the X-Men film series. Deadpool received his own film in 2016, played by the American actor Ryan Reynolds, who ensured his worldwide popularity, and two years later, a sequel was released.

Although Pahliney loved the chatty Wade Wilson, who calls himself Deadpool, in the iconic red and black suit and with an arsenal of weapons, as a comic book character, he is excited about the film adaptation.

“(Ryan Reynolds) brought the character to life, he embodies who Deadpool is,” says Pahliney of the actor’s performance. “I would like to give him a figurine of himself from my collection. But just taking a picture with him in Deadpool’s cave would be cool.”

Pahliney has action figures, comics or a valuable signed movie poster in his collection. Most impressive, however, is the hand-painted, life-size statue of Deadpool. Meanwhile, the venerable collection is constantly growing, and Pahliney is working hard to make it available to the public.

The collection includes comics, action figures, posters and many other items.

The price of the collection is a secret

“In the 90s, he was one of those characters that I absolutely loved in comics. He was different,” Pahliney reflects on what led him to his collecting passion. “He was just fun, but kind of a fringe character. Everyone was talking about the Hulk or Spiderman, but only true comic book fans knew Deadpool.”

The total financial cost this Marvel fan had to spend on the collection remains a mystery. Pahliney himself jokes that if the collection’s prize went to his wife, it might not end well. However, he also enthusiastically admits that his family and friends support him in his passion for Deadpool.

Another collector’s favorite from the Marvel ranks is the character of James Howlett aka Wolverine, with whom he also has a number of collectibles.

“I highly doubt I’ll ever stop collecting,” smiles Pahliney.
