Because of the coronavirus – which stopped the majority of the productions in progress, and which put the world in stand-by mode – all Phase 4 of the MCU is turned upside down. Why movies Black panther 2 and Spider-Man 3 have (for the time being) escaped the rule? If all the Disney / Marvel projects expected for 2020 and 2021 have had their release dates postponed, Spider-Man 3 is still set for July 2021. Why was he spared? Quite simply because, compared to the others, it also belongs to Sony. This means that Sony is responsible for determining the release date of the film, and Disney has no say. As a bonus, the franchise also takes care of Uncharted, the movie with Tom Holland at the head of the poster. The project had to stop filming when it was still in its infancy. The release of this film will also be an important element in decision-making regarding the broadcasting of Spider-Man 3.
As for Black panther 2, the project is expected for May 2022. Marvel studios therefore believes that it can deliver the project on time, believing that it will be able to manage production and post-production. If life resumes its course this summer, the franchise will be able to meet the deadlines announced and thus exit Black panther 2 on the scheduled date. By modifying all of its Phase 4, Marvel had to juggle between problems of theatrical availability and concordance with the chronology of his films. Of course, it is not impossible that the release date of Black panther 2 changes over the coming months, depending on the evolution of the situation.
