Martinique presents its application in Marseille, for an ins

Pending the UNESCO decision scheduled for July 2022, the application file for Mount Pelée, forests and peaks of Carbet for World Heritage listing, is presented in Marseille on Monday, September 6, 2021. It is up to the occasion of the World Conservation Congress.



The inscription on the UNESCO world heritage list of natural jewels of Martinique, has been officially supported since February 2021 by the government. Pending the decision of the institution scheduled for July 2022, the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique continues to promote the sites selected.

This Monday, September 6, 2021, the Regional Natural Park of Martinique will host a video conference from Fort-de-France, for the attention of participants of the World Conservation Congress. Organized by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, the event began last weekend at Parc Chanot in Marseille.

As part of the 2021 edition, visitors to the wetlands village will be able to discover the Genipa bay nature reserve in Ducos, thanks to a virtual presentation produced by the PNRM.

Martinique Regional Natural Park

On this occasion, the candidacy of Mount Pelée, forests and peaks of Carbet for inscription on the world heritage of UNSECO will be presented to the audience of Marseilles during this online conference.

The meeting will be co-hosted by the CTM, the DEAL, the Marine Natural Park and the Regional Natural Park of Martinique. It is the ecological mayor of the Prêcheur, Marcelin Nadeau, who will introduce from Marseille, the Martinican intervention.
