Markgrfler also want to help Ukrainians in an uncomplicated way – Eschbach

Skydivers offer their fully equipped club home as a refuge, and a private group raise funds for children and young people: two examples of spontaneous solidarity in the region.

People in Markgrflerland also want to help Ukrainians. Parachutists have offered their clubhouse in the business park near Eschbach as accommodation for war refugees. And a private group collects relief supplies for children. Now they come together.

The skydivers have spread their offer for the weekend as widely as possible via the Internet and Facebook: The “Skyhigh Fallschirmsport Eschbach” association is offering its clubhouse in the Breisgau business park for up to 14 Ukrainians. “We would have space and there are four rooms with bunk beds, a common room, kitchen and sanitary facilities,” said Denis Bosnjak on Monday. He is managing director of the Freiburg company “Air Adventures”, which is closely connected to the club and flies from Eschbach.

The idea arose from spontaneous solidarity with people who need help, but Bosnjak doesn’t know whether refugees can simply be housed like that. “But anyone who would oppose it would be a brute.” And they don’t want government support either.

The athletes also emailed the offer to the shop in Freiburg, which was looking for emergency accommodation for the evacuated children’s home before the buses from Lviv arrived in the sister city of Freiburg on Sunday. But there was no longer a need, the city would take care of it, according to Denis Bosnjak. Mayors in the surrounding area are also involved. “But we are still available if someone needs refuge,” assured the company’s boss. The offers tandem jumps, the association offers training and jumps for its around 200 active members. The hangar is also located in the business park.

“We gratefully accept the offer from the parachutists.” Markgrfler helper

A woman saw the offer on the Internet and asked if the association also had a room to store things for Ukrainian children and young people for a few days. In fact, the plane is currently under maintenance and the hangar is empty. Someone wants to come by on Monday to take a look at the premises, said Bosnjak.

The woman herself wanted to visit the hangar, but was sure beforehand: “We gratefully accept the offer from the parachutists.” She has already jumped herself, but does not wish to be named. In a private Markgrfler Facebook group, a collective appeal by a doctor from the Emmendingen area was shared, says the woman from the BZ request. There are now four collection points for clothing, bed linen and toys between Efringen-Kirchen and Buggingen. “It’s unbelievable what people give away – brand new shoes, for example.” Now everything should be bundled in one place so that the doctor doesn’t have to go through them all.

At the moment there is no further call for the action, first of all it should be sorted and coordinated as far as possible, what is needed next, explained the helper from Markgräfler. Your garage, for example, is almost full. “But we don’t know if they are the right sizes.”
