Mark Zuckerberg announces new WhatsApp feature for transferring chat history to a new device

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, just announced that WhatsApp have a new feature. Its capabilities can provide comfort and security when transferring chat history data to a new device.

Mark’s post presents a video tutorial, how two cellphones transfer data so easily. The cellphone in question only scans the QR code from the other device that has an account WhatsApp.

It doesn’t take long, because it only takes 15 seconds to transfer chat history to a new device. So users don’t need to restore via Gmail, which takes quite a long time.

The sophistication offered WhatsApp, allows its users to stay in the app without leaving the phone. So, the data stays on the two devices, without using third-party apps or other cloud services.

As detikINET observed, to transfer chat history with a QR code, both devices must be connected to Wi-Fi and location enabled. Then the user can open the Settings menu > Chat > ​​Chat Transfer > Start > Scan QR code.
