Māris Ozoliņš reveals what the super hit “Mazinė nežinė” is actually about

Ozoliņš reveals that the song was written when he divorced his son’s mother Mika Ozoliņš.

“He had packed his bags and was leaving, we agreed. I said, ‘OK, we part ways like old school friends, but I’ll play you a song in the hallway…’ I had written that the day before! I strummed by half-witted fools… She cried and I saw that she didn’t take out her suitcase at all, because she was going back…” recalls Ozoliņš.

He quickly adds, “I’m like, ‘No, no, no, that song isn’t that good! You misunderstood! It’s so nice ending!””

Soon the song was recorded in the studio and, according to Ozoliņš, unexpectedly became a hit.
