Marcelo Flores on Carlos Vela: “They don’t expect me to play like him” | International Soccer

Marcelo Flores currently plays for Arsenal Sub 18 of the Premier League with whom he has already played in 7 games and participated in 3 annotations.

Although Carlos Vela was part of the Gunners, he is not compared to him, “they are aware that Carlos (Vela) played here before, but they have not told me that they expect him to play like him,” Flores commented in an interview he gave to Goal.com.

“He is a very good footballer and I really enjoy watching him,” he said of the player of the LAFC.

The young footballer was born in Canada and it was Per Mertesacker who wrapped them up to take him to the English club as manager of the Arsenal academy.

“It helped me tremendously. I am grateful to him because he believed in my soccer ability, he gave me a lot to be what I am now ”, commented de Mertesacker.

Marcelo went from Ipswich from England to Arsenal Youth in 2019 and since October 1, 2020 he is part of the Arsenal Sub 18.

England and Canada can choose to call him to play in their representative, but the player dreams of the call for Gerardo Tata Martino, “I have not heard anything yet”, he commented about being able to play with El Tri, “but I am working hard to receive him soon”.

“Some people have called me from Mexico and they have told me to keep working hard and something good will come soon,” he said about his communication with members of the Mexican Soccer Federation.
