Marca, Ronaldo will play for Al-Nassr from 1 January

According to Marca, CR7 will sign a two-and-a-half year contract for almost 200 million euros per season. The Saudi club: “There is nothing signed”

Cristiano Ronaldo will play for Al-Nassr from 1 January 2023. CR7 broke the delay and would have decided to accept the offer of the Saudi team with which will sign a two and a half season contract. Between salaries and advertising revenues, the Portuguese phenomenon will become the highest paid athlete in the world, reaching almost 200 million euros per season. Ronaldo ended his relationship with Manchester United two days before starting the World Cup in Qatar: his first wish was to find a team that played the Champions League, but the only real offer was that of Al- Nassr. This was reported by the Spanish newspaper Marca.

Ronaldo will thus become the image man of Saudi sport and as such will be covered in gold. To the salary of 100 million euros will be added bonuses and advertising contracts that will make CR7 the highest paid sportsman on the planet, a figure that will allow him to almost triple the wages of Messi (75 million) and Mbappé (72 million).

A purely economic choice that of Ronaldo, who in Saudi Arabia will be able to expand and strengthen his unrivaled brand. Waiting for him with open arms are the former Roma coach Rudi Garcia and the former Napoli number 1 David Ospina, who preferred a rich Saudi pension to the court of Real Madrid as Courtois’ second.

AL-NASSR: THERE IS NOTHING SIGNED”
Cristiano Ronaldo, and whoever represents him, are in contact with Al-Nassr, “but there is nothing signed between the parties”. This was specified by a club source commenting on what was written by the Spanish sports newspaper ‘Marca’, according to which there is already an agreement and therefore from January CR7 will play in Saudi Arabia. The same source also added that between Ronaldo and the club “the issue of image rights remains to be settled”.
