Move Marc Marquez the Gresini Racing start MotoGP 2024 referred to as the betting moment. If he fails to shine, he is said to prefer retirement rather than continuing his career.
Marquez was only contracted for one season by Gresini after parting ways a year earlier than expected with Honda. He wanted to find out if he could find the joy of racing again by moving to a new team.
Joining Gresini, who is supported by Ducati, is expected to revive Marquez’s career, which has waned in the last four years. Moreover, currently the Desmosedici motorbike is the fastest on the track.
However, if it doesn’t turn out as expected, Marquez is said to prefer to end his career. This was stated by his younger brother, Alex Marquez.
“That’s what he said, the one year contract aims to see whether he still enjoys the world of racing,” said Alex, quoted by Motorsport.
“He was very open with me, and he said, ‘Okay, if I don’t enjoy it anymore I’m going to retire’. That’s what it was like.”
“That’s a possibility that could happen. So he wants to see whether he can enjoy it again, whether he’s still fast after his injury. I don’t have doubts about him, but he has doubts.”
“It’s natural for him to think that because I also had doubts about the Honda motorbike last season. But I’m sure that after the first day at the Valencia test, he will enjoy it and the doubts in his head will soon disappear,” explained Alex.
