Many police at De Ridderhof shopping center in Alphen a/d Rijn after 112 report | Inland

The police reported on Twitter on Friday afternoon that they were present in the vicinity of the shopping center via 112. A police helicopter is also flying because of the report, the police tweeted. Just before 4.30 pm, the police in the vicinity of De Ridderhof reported that they were still investigating the report. Officers wear bulletproof vests in accordance with the standard procedure.

Police have yet to comment further on the case. Insiders report that according to police sources, it would be someone who “threatened to harm himself, and to take others with him.”

Shops are open as usual

Chairman of the shopkeepers’ association Robert Grootenhuijs does not have the idea “that something serious is going on.” He says there are conspicuous and inconspicuous police cars under and around the mall. “They don’t walk through the mall,” he says, referring to the officers gathered. According to him, the police are alone. No people are arrested or stopped. “No one is checked.” The mall is open until 9pm.

Grootenhuijs does not know exactly what the notification means. “They didn’t let us know either. But you don’t do that when someone calls because they have sweaty feet. It must have had something to do with what happened eleven years ago.”

Tristan van der Vlis

The shopping center was cleaned up 11 years ago on April 9, 2011 by a shooting in which Tristan van der Vlist shot six people and injured dozens. “Of course you think about that for a while, but then there was real panic,” said a lady who just got out of Kruidvat. “I did get a call with ‘come home’, so go ahead.”
