Many people still go out with coronavirus symptoms

HILL BACK (ANP) – Many people still go outside if they have complaints associated with the corona virus. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) reports this on the basis of an investigation in collaboration with the GGDs.

More than 50,000 people were asked about their opinion of the corona measures and whether they adhered to them. Most people agreed with the measures, but 80 percent said they would go outside with symptoms of the coronavirus, such as a cold or fever. 40 percent of those questioned went to work with complaints. Only 12 percent of people had themselves tested for the virus.

UNCLEAR Many people have not yet been tested because they do not know when exactly this is allowed. They find the conditions unclear, RIVM reports. Many people also blame the complaints on other causes, such as hay fever.

RIVM calls on people to stay at home with complaints, however minimal, and to have them tested immediately. If people get tested quickly, many infections can be prevented, according to the RIVM.
