Social rent

According to the research, the size of the home is most important to tenants. Furthermore, the top five of important aspects include many environmental characteristics such as: no or limited noise pollution, type of living environment (city, village or countryside) and whether there is greenery in the area. Accessibility by car, parking and typical features of the home, such as the kitchen and bathroom, are of less importance to the respondents.
Living pleasure
“Because of the corona virus, everyone was suddenly more at home, children were temporarily taught at home and even now a lot of work is still done from home”, says Madeline Buijs, economist at ABN Amro. According to her, living pleasure is now under a magnifying glass.
ABN Amro concluded on the basis of the research results that the added value of a home lies in the relationship between building, location and environmental factors. “We believe that these elements strongly determine the value retention of the property. Targeted investments in the area therefore benefit owners ‘and developers’ own investments in real estate, ”says Buijs.
