Ponce López is a retired regional administration official. He is 68 years old and It carries 56 linked to the processions.
During the jury session the mayor had an emotional memory towards the figure of the one who was since its foundation 39 years ago president of the Processionist of the Year Award, Santiago Díaz Izquierdo, passed away last December.
After hearing the news, the new Processionist of the Year went to the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country where have you received the congratulations from the members of the jury and has provideds, to end the traditional photo at the gates of Santa María de Gracia.
The new president of the award, Pedro Negroles, has indicated that with this award Manuel Ponce has the recognition and affection of the entire jury.

As has been customary for some editions, the award ceremony will take place in the Hall of the Consistorial Palace, in an act set for the Friday, March 27, from 19 hours.
The Processionist of the Year was the last of the honorary appointments of Holy Week in Cartagena that remained to be determined, along with the town crier, who will be Pedro Maria Ferrandez Garcia, and the Nazarena Mayor, Manoli Borrego. All three will participate next March 26th, Ash Wednesday, in the traditional Call of the Processions, which will take place from the main balcony of the City Hall at 8:30 p.m.
