The Navarrese Manu Quijera won his fifth Spanish winter javelin champion title this Saturday, at the Ángel Cortés facilities in Jaén, with great authority and a mark of 78.65 meters, achieved in the third throw.
The Grupoempleo Pamplona athlete, in this way, won his fifth national winter title after the successes achieved in 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Quijera, who is the 2024 world leader with a throw of 79.96 meters achieved a few weeks ago, made three valid attempts of 78.65, 78.64 and 76.67 meters,
Pablo Costas, from SG Pontevedra, won the silver medal with 72.33 meters, and Nico Quijera, brother of the champion, also from Grupoempleo Pamplona, won bronze with 69.67 meters.
Erik Huijing, from Cueva de Nerja, was fourth with 68.20 meters, and Pablo Martínez, from Numantino, fifth with 64.25.
