Mandatory wearing of masks could be abolished in Estonia in the coming weeks, said Estonian Health Minister Tanel Kik.
In Estonia, the prevalence of Covid-19 has been declining for nine weeks in a row, while the number of vaccinees continues to rise, according to the Estonian public media. If such trends continue, it will be possible to waive the mandatory use of a face mask indoors during the summer months.
Asks, if the level of infection falls below 200, such relief could be provided and the use of indoor face masks would be recommended, but not mandatory.
Last day, more than 180 people were diagnosed with the new coronavirus in Estonia and one death was recorded from the disease caused by the virus.
