Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have an excellent starting position for the second leg in Madrid. The English won 2-1 at Real (0-0). After a largely uneventful first half, Isco put Real in the lead after an hour (60th minute), Citys Gabriel Jesus (78th) and Kevin De Bruyne with a penalty (83rd) turned the game. Real defender Sergio Ramos saw the red card shortly before the game ended due to an emergency brake (86.).
In the parallel game, Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus failed. The Italians lost 0-1 at Olympique Lyon (0-1). The future Herthan Lucas Tousart scored the goal of the day in the 31st minute. Lyon and Manchester City are now in a better position for the second leg on March 17.
