Manchester United Secures First Win in Champions League

Manchester United finally got his first win at Liga Champions. Faced with CopenhagenMU won narrowly with a score of 1-0.

From MU vs Copenhagen took place at Old Trafford on Wednesday (25/10) early morning WIB. Central defender Harry Maguire determined MU’s victory with his single goal in the second half.

MU started the match slowly so Copenhagen had more freedom to apply pressure. Even though the first half ended with an equal score without a goal.

After the break, MU’s game improved. The Red Devils managed to break the deadlock thanks to Maguire, while at the same time failing to maximize a golden opportunity to increase their lead.

Drama occurred at the end of the match because MU was awarded a penalty. Andre Onana made a brilliant save so that MU’s lead was maintained until the match was over.

With this result, Manchester United continues to live up to its chances of qualifying. MU rose to third place in Group A standings after collecting three points, six points away from Bayern Munich at the top and one point from Galatasaray (2).

The Course of the Match

Copenhagen immediately made MU nervous. Starting from Harry Maguire’s imperfect sweep in the middle of the field, Mohamed Elyounoussi started Copenhagen’s attack.

Elyounoussi’s cross to Diogo Goncalves ended with a shot that hit the MU goal post. There was chaos in front of goal, but MU’s defense managed to clear the ball.

MU is still having difficulty regulating the rhythm of its own game. Only in the 16th minute, MU created a good chance. Rasmus Hojlund continued Marcus Rashford’s pass on the left side with a shot from a tight angle. The ball is still off the mark.

Four minutes later, MU created a good chance. Hojlund’s backheel pass to Christian Eriksen was continued with a low kick. Kamil Grabara was still able to anticipate the ball near the post.

MU’s deadlock was finally broken in the 72nd minute. Harry Maguire opened MU’s lead to make the score 1-0.

Eriksen’s long pass slid into the middle of the penalty box. Maguire met the ball with a header towards the ground before beating Grabara’s guard.

Six minutes later, MU wasted a golden opportunity to score a second goal. A quick counter-attack ended with McTominay’s pass to Garnacho, but his shot was blocked. McTominay caught the rebound, but his shot went over.

At the end of injury time, McTominay’s foul caused the referee to award Copenhagen a penalty. Jordan Larsson stepped up as the executor, then fired a right-footed shot whose direction Onana managed to guess.

The match ended, the score was 1-0 for MU’s advantage to last until the match was over.
