Manchester United are ready to attack Liverpool’s highly rated academy star Ethan Ennis, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder made eight appearances for Liverpool’s U18 team last season, including an impressive hat trick against Sutton United in the FA Youth Cup.
Eager to stay with Ennis, Liverpool offered the terms of the scholarship for the young man, but they were rejected and Manchester United and Chelsea strongly pursued his signature.
A recent visit to Chelsea’s training ground, Cobham, seemed to suggest that a trade to Chelsea was on the cards, but “reports emerging on Sunday suggest that the Runcorn-born midfielder is indeed close to agreeing to a trade to United.” .
Able to play through the attack line, Ennis’s eye for goal saw him score five goals in just 358 minutes at the U18 level.

The footage shows him finding his way to the back post to head home for the first time and then tapping one from a similar position.
Not only does he possess the fox traits in the box, however, as he completed his hat trick with an inward run from the left before fitting into the bottom corner.
Ennis will join a deep group of attackers at United, including Charlie McNeill, who made a similar switch between rivals last season.
The potential move initially came to light in late May via Manchester United youth whistleblower @ jb_8521, who hinted at a move that would cause a furor among opposition supporters, similar to McNeill’s move.
