Before the end of the second quarter of the game, Martial flew out of the field. It must be admitted, however, that the red card for the Manchester forward was controversial to say the least. The Frenchman pushed his way in the penalty area with Erik Lamela and gently slapped his opponent on the neck. Earlier, the Argentine had made a similar gesture, but the host of the meeting, Anthony Taylor, only punished Martial.
Manchester, playing weakening, was completely out of the air at this point. The hosts had huge problems in defense and made catastrophic mistakes in the release of the ball. One such mistake cost them a 3-1 goal, which Harry Kane scored after Sona’s pass. Before the break, the Korean hit the net once again, defeating David de Gea with a flat hit from an acute angle.
