IHK NRW is the state working group of the 16 chambers of industry and commerce in North Rhine-Westphalia. We give the commercial economy a strong voice in dialogue with the state political decision-makers. As a self-governing organization of the economy, the IHKs in NRW assume responsibility for the companies in the state, initiate solutions and weigh individual and location interests against each other.
To support our team we are now looking for and permanent full-time a managing director (m/f/d) for the field of education / securing skilled workers.
Your tasks:
- They represent the positions of the IHK NRW to the state government and its ministries as well as other cooperation partners and the press.
- They maintain contacts with the members of the state parliament and their employees.
- You represent IHK NRW in state political committees such as the training consensus and the state committee for vocational training as well as expert hearings in the NRW state parliament.
- They create political position papers, statements and press releases.
- They design voting processes for the political opinion-forming of the 16 IHKs in NRW.
Your profile:
- You have a professional or academic degree at master’s level, preferably with a focus on politics, economics or law.
- You know how IHKs work and have gained relevant professional experience in chambers, associations, ministries or political parties.
- You are familiar with the German vocational training system and in particular with dual training.
- Preferably, you can already fall back on an existing network in the vocational training policy context in NRW.
- A good balance of assertiveness and cooperation skills, teamwork and diplomatic negotiation skills complete the picture.
