Man who stabbed officer in the face during curfew check must first be investigated | Inland

The psychiatrist and psychologist who examined 31-year-old Eric T. could not make a judgment about his responsibility, as a result of which the planned substantive treatment of the case could not take place on Thursday.

According to the prosecutor, Eric T.’s enormous explosion of violence raises so many questions that it is necessary to find out whether there was a disorder after all. The psychiatrist says there are indications for that.

Escaped

Eric T. (31) immediately attacked officers who approached him for violating the curfew with a knife. He knocked the male officer to the ground, slit his carotid artery and stabbed him in the face, left shoulder, back and left thigh. The female officer was also stabbed in the thigh.

During the introductory session, Eric T. said he had “huge regrets” for his act. “I am shocked by the damage I have caused. It’s the first time I’ve injured anyone, and so seriously.” He promised to participate in research at the Pieter Baan Center, even though he said he had bad experiences with psychiatrists. He was allegedly abused by psychiatrists in his youth.

The officers both claim compensation: the seriously injured officer asks 30,000 euros, the female officer 10,000 euros.
