Man who drowned 28 years ago may still be a victim of crime

A man who was found dead 28 years ago in the Delfshavense Schie in Rotterdam may have been the victim of a crime. The police announced this in the TV program Investigation Requested.

For years it was thought that Mario Das Dores (35) from The Hague ended up in the water after a fatal accident and drowned. Now new information shows that he may have ended up in the water at the hands of someone else, reports RTV Rijnmond.

In the night of 14 to 15 May 1994 Das Dores attended a Cape Verdean party in a club on Schuttevaerweg in Rotterdam. There it came to a few riots, which, according to the police, all ended with a fizzle. Later he walked to another club with a group of acquaintances, who then lost track of him.

His family heard nothing from the Hague resident for days. On May 20, rowers found his body in the Delfshavense Schie. There were no visible injuries on the remains.

Suspect

Police previously arrested a suspect in the investigation, but he was released due to lack of evidence.

It is not known what exactly the new information has been received by the police. According to a spokesperson for the Rotterdam police, contradictory statements have also been made about the disappearance of Das Dores.

The golden tip giver can count on a reward of 15,000 euros.
