Passing away
A man was probably killed violently in the center of Ghent on Wednesday night. His girlfriend has been arrested by the police as a suspect and is being interrogated.
In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the Ghent police received a report about a death in the Zilverenberg, a street near the Oude Beestenmarkt in Ghent. A man’s body was found in an apartment, a resident of the building. Neighbors saw several police cars, an ambulance and the mosquito arrive on the scene.
An investigation into what happened is underway. The East Flanders public prosecutor’s office confirms that the first indications indicate that it was a violent death. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, an investigating judge arrived on the scene, together with the prosecutor and a team from the judicial lab.

She allegedly stabbed her boyfriend during an argument. The emergency services would have been notified by the woman herself, but all help came too late.
