Man United’s narrow win was presented by Bruno Fernandes and Jonny Evans.
When Jonny Evans was named in the line-up to face Burnley, many Manchester United fans shuddered. But after the 35-year-old Northern Irishman led the Red Devils to an unconvincing but worthwhile 1-0 win, his name was chanted by the raucous away fans.
Evans had a goal disallowed and then provided a beautiful pass which Bruno Fernandes tapped first into the far corner. The goal came out of nowhere and after a difficult first half in which Burnley striker Zeki Amdouni hit the post and forced Andre Onana into a good save.
Evans continued to dictate United’s play in an unconvincing second half, but United finally achieved an away win which ended the recent bad trend. Could this be the first step in the revival of Erik ten Hag’s team?
