It was 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, when a man attacked another man, rue Saint-Sever, in Rouen (Seine-Maritime), at Place Lafayette.
The criminal attempted to steal the gold necklace from the 76-year-old victim. “However, he managed to take the medallion hanging from the chain, before fleeing, pursued by witnesses”, explains a police source.
A policeman from the anti-crime brigade took him on the run, rue des Emmurées, in the direction of rue François Arago. The latter even borrowed a bicycle from a witness to pursue the thief.
The fugitive then tried to hide in a trash can, who fell with him in his fall. The 34-year-old man ended up being arrested by the police. For his part, the victim fell after the attack and injured his elbows and knees.
