Man seriously injured in a work accident on Ytterøy in Levanger municipality – NRK Trøndelag

The work accident happened on Ytterøy in Levanger municipality in Trøndelag on Monday night.

The man was injured in connection with work on a grain screw.

– He was supposed to empty a silo, but we do not know exactly what happened. The investigation will probably show that, says Ove Tokstad to NRK. He is operations manager at Trøndelag police district.

Gave first aid

It was the local fire brigade that first responded to the accident. They assisted with first aid until the air ambulance was in place.

The first reports were that the man was conscious, but that internal bleeding was suspected.

The police confirm to NRK a little before 9.30 pm that the injured man has been flown to St. Olav’s hospital in Trondheim.

– According to the doctor, the patient is badly, but not life-threateningly injured. So it is a good news, says Tokstad.

Boat transport

The police received assistance from the lifeboat to get out to the island. Ambulance personnel were transported by ferry.

FosenNamsos Sjø writes on its website that the departure between Levanger – Hokstad at 20.00 was canceled. The same applied to the opposite road at 20.35. The reason was justified by ambulance assignments.

The boat traffic will run as normal from 22.00.
