A waterfall that makes foam “like a jacuzzi”. During the confinement period, dishwashing liquid was poured into a waterfall in the village of Bousquet in the Gard. Foolishness could make people laugh, but the site of the waterfall is classified as a natural area for its flora and fauna.
Investigators only had to research the social media to find the author there, who filmed his gesture and posted it. We see him pouring half a liter of dishwashing liquid into emerald water and we hear him say “This is just the beginning”, says the Gard police in a post spotted by France Bleu.
Arrested by the gendarmes, the young man explained that he spent the day with his friends by the river even though confinement forced him to stay at home. The boy told the police that he wanted to “act like in a jacuzzi”. He was not aware of the environmental damage it could cause, point out the gendarmes.
He will be brought before the Alès court in September. He risks being condemned to community service.
