A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged with murder or complicity in murder at Bård Lanes (33) in Tønsberg. Another man is already charged with the same thing.

The man was arrested without drama in the Drammens area, the police write in a press release.
– The police believe that the man who was arrested on Tuesday is the same person who is shown on the surveillance video that has previously been released, it is stated in the press release.
They do not want to comment on whether they believe this is the same person who fired the shots at the deceased Lanes.
– The man is charged with murder or complicity in murder.
The man has had Javeed Shaah appointed as defense counsel in the case.
– He does not understand the accusation, the defender writes in a text message to VG on Tuesday night.
Defender adds:
– He will cooperate with the police, but we will return to that on a later occasion.
According to police attorney Fredrik Borg Johannessen, the man was not questioned at 9.20 pm on Tuesday night.
– We’ll see if he wants to explain himself. As soon as he is, we are ready to accept the explanation.
– Control of the key perpetrators
It was Tuesday night, April 20, that Lanes was shot on an open street in Tønsberg.
He is said to have called an ambulance himself and was transported to the hospital in Vestfold with injuries. Here he died shortly afterwards.
– We believe that we now have control over the key perpetrators in the case, says police attorney Johannessen.
By them, the police believe that they have control over the two key perpetrators who “can be linked to the action at the murder scene”, Johansen tells VG.
However, he will not say anything about the relationship between the two accused, for the sake of the investigation.
The police will now work to map the course of events around the murder and the movement pattern of the deceased and the two accused between Brun and Blid and where the deceased called for help, Johannessen states.

Sees connection with car fire
However, the police attorney does not rule out that there may be further arrests in the case.
The police arrested three people just hours after the murder in connection with a car fire in Tønsberg. Two of them were released. The new apprehended person is not among the two released, the police say.
Johannessen tells VG that the investigation has “revealed information” which means that the police “see the two incidents in context”.
The third person police arrested in connection with the car fire, a 31-year-old man, is charged with the murder or complicity in the murder.
The 31-year-old still does not want to explain himself, Johannessen said on Tuesday.
There may be more arrests
– But it is so early in the investigation that we can not rule out that other people are involved in advance, during the incident at Kilen in Tønsberg or afterwards, says Johannessen.
The police state that despite having made another arrest in the case, “they are still investigating the case broadly”.
They will continue to work with, among other things, reviewing video, questioning witnesses, following up on tips – and they still want the public to come up with tips in the case.
