In order not to have to get married, a man in Colombia faked his kidnapping and triggered a major police operation. The family of his future bride informed the police after the 55-year-old was allegedly abducted by armed men on a motorcycle in Pitalito in the Huila department, the television station Caracol reported on Thursday.
The security authorities sealed off the community and initiated a large-scale search. A special unit of the armed forces was also deployed. Eventually, the police discovered the man in a family member’s house. “He didn’t want to get married,” said chief of police Jovanni Cepeda. A year ago, the man is said to have prevented his wedding in a similar way. A criminal offense is now being investigated against him.
