Man Catches 80-Kilo Catfish at Bajánsenyei Horgásztó: A Fishing Tale

The 40-hectare Bajánsenyei Horgásztó is best known as a boily water, but it also has a significant population of catfish, which is why István Félix and a friend chose the location for themselves, as they wanted to scout for a larger catfish, writes the Pecaverse.

On Saturday, October 7, the fishing trip started at 8:00 a.m. and lasted until 4:00 p.m. the next day. István Félix told the portal how he finally managed to catch the 80 kilo fish.

When I hung up, I already felt that this was not a drink. I cut in and started pulling. It was like a log, but it didn’t take a minute for me to know that this was the fish of my life. He had outbursts like I had never experienced before

Felix said.

I was able to pull the sharks like in the movies: with pure force, as much as I could, I didn’t play tricks, I really pulled as hard as I could

the man recalled.

The length of the catfish was 225 centimeters, and its weight was measured at 80 kilograms. It was then photographed and released back into the lake.

István Félix’s previous record was a 37 kilo fish. The man competes regularly, so he saw fishing as training. In 2022, he was a member of the Fertő lake Harcsahorgászok team, with which he finished second in the II. At the Catfishing National Championship.
