Gener Pérez Ramírez was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a co-worker in Mamaroneck in an early morning incident in New York’s Westchester County.
Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday a 911 call was received reporting that a man had been stabbed in the stomach in the area of 657 Mamaroneck Ave. At that address there is a Salvadoran food restaurant, but the police did not specify if the incident was related to that business.
Upon arriving at the scene, detectives found a 52-year-old White Plains man with a stab wound, he said. Daily Voice. Then Authorities searched the area and found a suspect who matched the description given by the victim. about his alleged attacker.
The injured man was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where he was immediately taken into life-saving surgery. His name was not revealed.
An investigation determined that Pérez Ramírez and the victim knew each other as co-workers and had started a verbal dispute that turned physical, police said, without specifying the reason for the altercation.
Pérez Ramírez was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned at the Mamaroneck courthouse and then taken to the Westchester County Department of Corrections. All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
In a similar case, in mid-January a worker at a construction site in Manhattan stabbed a co-worker three times during a fight over loud music, the NYPD said.
