The police arrested a man with the initials YES who went viral on social media for rampaging at Sudirman Station and Manggarai Station, Jakarta.

Kasubdit Ranmor Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kompol Yuliansyah said YES was arrested at around 02.00 WIB in the morning.

“Yes, that’s right (arrested),” said Yuliansyah when contacted, Friday (14/4).

Yuliansyah explained that YES was also reported by someone for alleged violations of Article 335 of the Criminal Code and Article 351 of the Criminal Code.

This report, said Yuliansyah, is still in the process of investigation. At the same time, YES went viral on social media because it was rampaging at the KRL station.

His party then lured YES to be invited to meet as if they wanted to process the action bullying against him for running amok at the station.

“We caught him at Polda Metro Jaya, so we lured this person concerned, we lured him to meet him, because the person concerned felt he was rioting here and there, many people mock he’s on social media. We seem to want to accommodate his report regarding that bullying him,” she said.

Previously, the KAI Commuter had also spoken out about the YA action rampaging on platform 2 of Sudirman Station, Central Jakarta.

KAI Commuter External Relations & Corporate Image Care Manager, Leza Arlan, said that the commotion started from a violation committed by a passenger, namely smoking in a prohibited area at the station.

“Our officers persuasively warned the user not to smoke in prohibited places because it could disturb the comfort of other users at the station,” said Leza.

“However, the users did not heed the warning, causing an uproar. With the help of other station security officers, users who committed violations were removed from the Sudirman Station area,” he continued.
