In the context of the traditional annual speech of the President of Suriname on October 1, the Road Authority (WA) will once again activate the flag project as this is a heyday.
The aim of this flag project is to stimulate and strengthen the nationalistic feeling among the Surinamese people.
The so-called mammoth flags will flutter from September 24 to October 4 at four different locations:
- dr. Sophie Redmondstraat (in front of the Dr.Ir. Frank Essed building)
- The roundabout at the van `t Hogerhuysstraat
- The roundabout on the Mr. Jaggernath Lachmon Street
- The roundabout near the JAPengel International Airport
In this flag project, which is carried out on heyday, the WA receives support from the Suriname Police Force and the National Army.
