Malin Aasa makes a comeback in the basketball league – after seven years

In 2015, Malin Aasa chose to retire, to invest in her job as a nurse and to start a family.

Now, seven years later, the 35-year-old has chosen to make a comeback.

– It will be enormous fun to be back on the basketball court again, but above all to be able to represent Jämtland again. Östersund Basket has something exciting going on and I hope to be able to contribute a lot of experience, she says in a press release, which Östersunds-Posten quotes.

“Really incredibly good”

Aasa says Aftonbladet that it was Östersund’s coach Alva Stark who “hatched the idea”, and in a press release it appears that Stark has high hopes for Aasa.

– This is really extremely good. Malin is an incredibly good leader with the experience we need. I myself trained with Malin when we both played, and she is a competitive person without such. Now we have the summer to prepare in the best way, she says.

In 2015, Aasa won Swedish Championship gold with Norrköping.
